The Les Mis show was a medley of the most recognized songs from the world famous tragic musical Les Miserables. "At the End of the Day," "I Dreamed a Dream," and "On My Own" was some of the songs performed. A backdrop of a barricade was made for the field, and soloist Laura Fieg played her trumpet on it. The drum majors for that year were Angela Lee and Alexis Marks. The Satellite Marching Scorps received a SUPERIOR rating at district marching festival.
That Down Home Feeling: Part Deux
1996-1997
That Down Home Feeling: Part Deux was a sequel to the previous year's show, That Down Home Feeling. The highlight of the show was "Little Miss Fire Prevention Parade Meets the T-Ball Queen" featuring Kristin Haynes and Laura Fieg. The show had a "down home" New Orleans jazz feel. The band even "stripped" out of their marching jackets and donned fedoras for half the shows. Drum Major and Band Captain for that year was Wayne Bresette. They received a SUPERIOR rating at district marching festival.
That Down Home Feeling

That Down Home Feeling was perhaps one of the more popular half time shows for Satellite. There was lots of dancing and lots of jazz. The mood set was one of a New Orleans funeral with jazz and celebration. Some soloists were Dave Jacobs on trumpet and Michelle Vandergrift on soprano sax. That year they got a SUPERIOR rating at district marching festival.
Arabian Nights

The Arabian Nights show was one of the most difficult and biggest productions for the Satellite Band, their parents, and stage craft crew. The drills and pictures were difficult, but they produced amazing effects to the spectator. A large genie bottle was built to shoot flags to the Scorpionettes during the show. The band received a SUPERIOR rating at district marching festival.
